[After Yuya's death, Nanami will grab Mabel for a private conversation the second she gets the chance. The door barely closes before she promptly explodes...metaphorically speaking.]

What the hell is going on?! We didn't give anyone a detonator! You didn't accidentally vote for someone one of the nights, did you?

Well...our role is to help the normal guests, not the VIPs...so it doesn't make us totally pointless...

[What would Dipper think about this? There has to be some kind of answer, right?]

Maybe someone stole a key somehow?

[foetida]

How could they steal something we never gave away? And why would they target Sakaki, of all people?

[She huffs and crosses her arms.] It's the last part that bothers me the most. Even if a VIP got their hands on a detonator somehow, I don't see why they'd target him instead of someone who's been more useful. [Too...soon...?]

[ineptus]

[That point clearly confuses her too.]

I don't know...I don't know why they'd target him. Maybe they didn't have a reason...or maybe they didn't like him? Other than one less regular guest that was kind of useless.

[foetida]

Maybe it was that Kurapick guy and he's only acting upset to throw us off. It is kind of suspicious that he'd be so close to someone he's only met for a few days. [Friendship is a very confusing thing and she does not understand it!!]

Whatever. What do we do now? They all think we're the bad guys here or big enough idiots to give out keys to crazy psychopaths.

[ineptus]

I'd hate to think that, but... [But clearly people can't all be trusted.]

I don't know. What I'd hate more is to use that tabloid, and I doubt anyone would believe it, but unless there's a second set of Detonators running around, they need to know it wasn't our work. If they think that, then the guilty people will go free! And...that could be even more dangerous for everyone...we can't have that.

[foetida]

Ugh, that trashy thing? Nobody will believe anything written in that old rag. They'll probably all think that the real culprit submitted it to throw them off track.

[That said, it's not like they have a lot of options here, and Nanami knows it. She scowls and stamps her foot petulantly.] I swear, this killer is going to pay for ruining our good name like this.

[ineptus]

I agree...how else can we talk to them? I don't think we should send a note straight to Sigma. They might just think it's a fake...and I don't want to talk to Levi in person. I think that's a bad idea.

[This was so frustrating!]

I agree. They definitely will. Once we figure out who it is, we'll make sure they understand what happens when you besmirch the name of Nanami and Mabel!

[They weren't friends? No, clearly you are wrong. These two are the best of friends.]

I don't trust Levi an inch. If he isn't faking it, then he's too stupid to risk telling anything important anyway. He might just think it's a good idea to reveal our identities too.

They're going to regret ever messing with us! [True friendship is born out of mutual hatred!] What if we write that the panel with the creepy animal painting slides back when we have to vote? If the other roles work the same way, they'll know we're telling the truth that way.

[ineptus]

That's what I was worried about too!

[Puffing her cheeks out a little, she nods.]

That's a good idea! They'd have to believe us then!

[foetida]

[She puffs out her chest, looking proud.] Of course it's a good idea, I came up with it after all!

[And then she'll grab a sheet of paper and scribble something down, showing it to Mabel afterwards.] How does this look?

We're the detonators. We haven't given out a key to anyone on any of the nights yet, and we're not allowed to give keys to each other. Whoever killed Yuya Sakaki must have done it without our help.

As proof of our role: there's a hidden panel behind the wall with the painting of the mascot in our room that slides up when it's time to make our decision during the night. If the other roles work the same way, they'll know we're telling the truth.

[ineptus]

[Mabel reads the note over, nodding as she does so.]

Perfect! Oh but should we add some sort of symbol too...? So that if we need to contact them again, they'll know it's us and not some imposter?

[foetida]

I guess that might be a good idea. [She hands the note over to Mabel.] Since I did all the work of writing the note, you can draw the symbol.

[This isn't at all because she's not that great at drawing, of course...]
